Absurdism Creative Direction, Design

A three–book exploration on Absurdism. The first book uses absurdist humor and low–brow photography to represent the average initial reaction to the theory– scary, dark, pessimistic. The second book uses Albert Camus’ The Myth of Sisyphus to represent the learning phase of Absurdism– delving into the concept more deeply, and this time with an open-minded approach. The text throughout is disrupted in key areas that are meant to annoy the reader, while ultimately emphasizing the themes being explored. The third book is the most experimental, and represents the third stage of understanding Absurdism: that life can mean or be whatever you want it to. The books are user-centered in concept and design, and the screen-printed covers invite tactility and reinforce the humanity of the topic.
